Camping Pitches : Frequently asked questions

Please find below the answers to some of the questions very often asked. If you didn’t find the answer to yours, don’t hesitate to get back to us per phone or e-mail !

Is there a particular arrival day ?

In the case of a Standard pitch, you can arrive and depart every day of the week, even during the high season according to the remaining availability. A stay has to be of a minimum of one night and can last as long as you’d like, again, according to the remaining availability.

In the case of a Grand Confort pitch, arrival and departure in high season (30/06-28/08) take place on Sunday and Wednesday. This means that you can stay 1 week, 2 weeks or 10 days… in the low season you can arrive and depart every day, depending on availability.

Arrival and departure on your camping pitch

Your pitch will be available starting from 14.00 at your arrival day and on the day of departure you’ll have to clear the pitch at the latest at 12.00.

Our four-legged friends…

… on the campsite

If you rent a camping pitch, dogs (except category 1 and 2), cats and other animals are allowed on the campsite against €4.00/night/pet. Pets must be kept on a lead at all times and accompanied by their owners. Pets must relieve themselves outside the campsite.

… in town

From May to October, dogs are not allowed on Châtelaillon’s beaches. Dogs are allowed all year round on the promenade along the beach.

In the village you can have a nice walk with your dog and nearby are small beaches where they are welcome : you can get more information about this at reception.

… by public transport

If you have a small dog, you can use the city bus to La Rochelle, just 150 metres from the campsite. The dog must be in a crate and we recommend you ask permission from the bus driver before getting on the bus.

If you prefer to take the train to visit La Rochelle or Rochefort, the Châtelaillon-Plage station is 3 km from the campsite. Dogs are allowed on the train as long as they are in a closed crate or kept on a leash and muzzled.

Prefer to take a taxi? Ask at reception for the addresses of dog-friendly taxis.

Do you have a cancellation insurance ?

During your reservation, you can tick the box for an insurance. All details are on page cancellation insurance. Please read the information on the insurance very well because not all reasons for cancellation will be taken into account for restitution. Should you decide to cancel, the contact will be directly with the Insurance CAMPEZ COUVERT and not our campsite. Once the booking has been made, adding an insurance through us is not possible anymore. Please check with your bank or insurance then, maybe they can still help you.

What about entrance/exit of cars ?

Automatic barriers limit the access to the site. During your stay a key will give you access by car. In case of loss the key has a value of 15€. In between 22.00 at night and 07.00 in the morning the night gate is closed and cars can’t come in or go out (except for emergencies).

Is it possible to barbecue on my pitch ?

When you rent a camping pitch, it is possible to barbecue on you pitch – unless the French authorities decide against during dryth. For security reasons your barbecue has to be on stilts and not low to the ground and you’re supposed to keep a bucket of water close by. Please mind your neighbor and try to not send all the smoke in his direction.

You’d like to barbecue but forgot yours? A large collective barbecue is at your disposal on site.

Can I charge my electric/hybrid car directly from the mobile home?

Our camping pitches are not suitable for charging an electric or hybrid vehicle. This can entail serious risks (short circuit, fire), both for the tenants of the accommodation/camping pitch, but also for all customers of the campsite and even the campsite itself. You are requested to use our charging station for electric cars, installed in 2023.

Tourist tax

The tourist tax is an amount of 0.66€ per night and per person of 18 years and more in 2023. The tax will be asked for when you pay the invoice and will then be handed over to the CDA of La Rochelle.

Eco-contribution

Ecologically responsible entrepreneurship has been the common thread of our campsite for years and we are proud of our Ecolabel and Green Key quality marks! An eco-contribution will be charged for your stay of €0.40 per night per person. This amount will be reinvested in its entirety in our various environmental projects. Last year we were able to install a charging station for electric cars and launch a great cycling and walking app to discover Châtelaillon-Plage and the surrounding area in a fun way. And also sponsoring a beehive in the nearby village of Fouras in order to save pollination and bees.

I’d like a particular pitch

If you’d like to have a particular pitch number or be close to family/friends we advise you to book as soon as possible. Please note that it will always be a preference and not a guarantee.

The equipment on your pitch

All equipment has to fit on your pitch, car included. The car should not be in one of the alleys, this might block driving up and down by other guests and your car could even get damaged. We kindly request that cars are not parked on other empty pitches : pitches have to remain clear if reception decided to use them for new guests.

Water points

Grand Confort pitches have a private water point on the pitch. Standard pitches don’t and one water point is shared by several pitches. We can’t promise you that one will be on your pitch or a bit further away. We kindly ask you to not use the private Grand Confort water points if you booked a standard pitch.

Electric hook up

The Grand Confort pitches have electric hook up included during the stay (10 amps). All standard pitches can have electric hook up, but it’s up to you to decide at reservation if you want electric hook up during your stay or not. Our site is equipped with European electricity boxes, please bring your European adaptor or buy it at reception (18€).

If, during your stay, there should be a problem with your electricity please don’t open the boxes : the electric system is computerized and only at reception this can be checked. Please come see us and we’ll help you straight away.

Phone/camera charging

You didn’t choose electric hook up and you’d like to charge your phone or other devises ? Unfortunately this isn’t possible at reception/bar or shop. We advise you to charge your devises in the showerblock. Please mind your devise in order to avoid theft.

Can minors stay on site without their parents ?

For evident safety reasons (pool, evacuation of the site in case of wheater conditions…) or medical care reasons (hospitalization during the stay), minors without their parents are not allowed to stay on our site.
